News Corp. President Peter Chernin to Leave - Advertising Age - MediaWorks

Speculation has been rampant that Mr. Chernin, 57 years old, would leave; his contract with the company was set to expire this year and he has in recent months been involved with negotiations. News Corp. said Mr. Murdoch, the media giant.’s chairman-CEO, will assume oversight the company’s Los Angles-based businesses, which include movie studio 20th Century Fox, the Fox broadcast network, and the FX cable network.

No, the real reason Woz could win is his fans. Every engineer, software developer, technorati and digerati will be rooting for and, more importantly, voting for the beloved engineer. In fact, since the announcement earlier this week, they’ve been blogging about how to make it happen, starting with “How can we geeks unite to sway the vote?” posted by Al Lucklow on Woz.org.
